What I Wish I Knew Conversation Series

Online Event
Past Event

Embarking on a new school year for the first time is both exciting and challenging. Join CEC’s Student and Early Career Committee (SECC) for “What I Wish I Knew,” a new series of interactive Zoom conversations focused on what to expect and how to prepare for the beginning of the school year.

These casual, interactive, small-group conversations are for new and veteran educators alike, giving new teachers the opportunity to learn about managing the early days and weeks of the school year and seasoned educators the chance to be that supportive teacher for the next generation of special educators.

Whether you’re just not sure what you’re up against or have sage advice on navigating (or circumnavigating!) the staff lounge, our upcoming “What I Wish I Knew Calls” will provide a safe, conversational environment for the community to come together, ask questions, and share as we kick off the new year.

Series Schedule

The SECC is hosting several virtual gatherings through September designed to support early career teachers navigating the start of the school year. Veteran teachers and new(er!) teachers will meet for casual conversations to talk about all those insider hacks for making the early days and weeks of the school year go smoothly. As a new teacher, this is your chance to ask veterans, “What do you wish you knew when YOU started teaching?”

Please note that this series is free and open to all! RSVP to as many as you like. Space is limited, so register soon!
