Leadership Institute Learning Objectives for Attendees
At the end of the Leadership Institute, participants will be able to:
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of CEC Unit and Division leaders and how these connect to the broader CEC structure and mission.
- Identify key tools, resources, and support systems available through CEC Headquarters to help manage and strengthen their Unit or Division.
- Demonstrate an understanding of core leadership tasks, including event planning, budgeting, member engagement, succession planning, and effective communication.
- Apply CEC policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure sound governance and compliance within their Unit or Division.
- Engage in peer networking and collaboration to exchange ideas, build relationships, and identify opportunities for partnership or mentorship across Units and Divisions.
- Feel empowered and equipped to lead with confidence, innovate locally, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and impact of the CEC community as ambassadors.
Who Should Attend?
This event is designed for:
- Current component presidential-line members (i.e., President, President-elect)
- Strongly encouraged: At least one president/president-elect representing each component.
- Optional: Chapter (Local or Student) and Subdivision Presidents and Presidents-elect

*Each Unit and Division will each receive two complimentary registrations.
Attendance is capped at three attendees + Executive Director from each Unit/Division.
Refunds
- On or before April 30: Full refund minus a $25 administrative fee
- May 1 - May 29: 50% refund
- After May 29: No refunds issued.
- Registrations may be transferred to another eligible participant until June 5.

- Access to all learning activities Wednesday through Friday
- Access to the evening events on Wednesday and Thursday
- Learning materials (folder, notebook, pen)
- Onsite Meals Include:
- Group Dinner on Wednesday
- Breakfast, Lunch, and Light refreshments (appetizers and beverages) at the evening reception on Thursday
- Afternoon coffee/snack breaks on Wednesday and Thursday
- Breakfast on Friday
What’s Not Included?
- Hotel accommodation (although you receive a discount with the official hotel by the booking deadline; hurry, these sell out quickly!)
- Travel/Transportation to and from Alexandria, VA
