How the Ellen Maltais Chapter Is Celebrating Our 100th Anniversary with Exceptional Children’s Week

As we count down to CEC's 100th Anniversary on August 10, 2022, we're highlighting celebrations from our Units, Chapters, and Special Interest Divisions. One great way to celebrate is to develop your own "celebration" of the history of CEC by helping to schedule an Exceptional Children's Week, Teacher Appreciation Week, or other event.

In Georgia, the Ellen Maltais Chapter of CEC is doing just that by hosting their own Exceptional Children's Week in honor of our 100th year.

Exceptional Children's Week is celebrated to increase awareness and spotlight the capabilities of all students with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. The goal is to create an inclusive culture where differences are recognized, similarities are discovered, and everyone feels included and valued.

The Ellen Maltais Chapter of CEC has compiled a list of resources to share with your school and your students to facilitate awareness and acceptance of students with different abilities. There are resources for all grade levels as well as teacher resources.
