USDA Plans to Deliver Boxed Meals to Students from Rural Schools
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will partner with the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, McLane Global, and PepsiCo to deliver 1 million meals per week to students from rural schools closed due to coronavirus.
Delivery of the boxed meals, which will contain five days’ worth of individually packaged foods, will begin next week. This proposal builds on the Meals-2-You home delivery pilot program in 2019. Read the USDA press release here.
