OSEP Explains Implementation of IDEA Part B Provision of Services During COVID-19
On Monday, the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services’ Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) released a document that responds to concerns about the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B provisions during COVID-19.
The document details the steps that state educational agencies, local educational agencies, and individualized education program teams can take to ensure that children with disabilities are well-positioned and supported within their educational programs, regardless of the mode of instruction. While the Q&A document is meant to provide clarity to the public, the guidance does not have the force and effect of the law and is not binding to the public.
