The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has published estimated state-by-state allocations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) supplemental funds enacted through the American Rescue Plan Act. The supplemental funds will fulfill IDEA Part B grants to states and preschools as well as Part C grants for infants and families.
Currently, the Department has set aside 15% of the IDEA Part C supplemental funds, amounting to $37.5 million, for State Incentive Grants. Any IDEA Part C unallocated funds not used for the State Incentive Grants or for other purposes will be reallocated to eligible states based on the 2021 funding formula at a time deemed appropriate by the Department.
