OCR Releases Resource Guide for Compliance with AI Regulations 

In response to Executive Order 14110: Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has introduced a new resource to provide guidance for compliance.

The order directs the Department to create resources, policies, and guidelines for the responsible, safe, and equitable use of artificial intelligence in education, particularly addressing its effects on vulnerable and underserved populations. The guide outlines the legal framework OCR applies to determine potential discrimination and includes examples of situations that may prompt an investigation.
