Literacy and Students With Disabilities Prioritized in Draft Comprehensive Centers Redesign
Last week, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) published a request for comments on proposed changes to the Comprehensive Centers (CC) program. The CC program is intended to build the capacity of state, regional, local, and tribal education agencies and schools to improve instruction, expand educational opportunity, close achievement gaps, and raise outcomes, with a focus on the students with the highest needs. The proposed redesign would include a National Center, Regional Centers, and Content Centers, one of which will be the National Center on Improving Literacy for Students with Disabilities. ED is soliciting feedback on these priorities. All comments must be received on or before April 2, 2026.
