Biden Administration Releases Fact Sheet on Disability-Related Actions
On Wednesday, recent disability-related policy proposals and accomplishments were highlighted as part of a review of the accomplishments of the first 100 days of the Biden Administration. The document, entitled “FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Efforts to Support Full Participation and Equality for People with Disabilities,” signals the Administration’s commitment to “achieve a more inclusive country for people with disabilities.”
It includes highlights such as $3 billion in targeted emergency funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), enacted as part of the American Rescue Plan Act, and a proposed $900 million to address special educator shortages through IDEA personnel preparation funds as part of the American Families Plan. It also reviews other actions that advance equity, employment, health, and access for people with disabilities.
