Julie Irene Bost, Ed.D.

Julie Bost

Dr. Julie Irene Bost is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Program Coordinator for the Specialized Education Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In this role, she coordinates the Special Education Programs, teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses, and supervises student teachers. Previously, she was a Program Specialist for Exceptional Children for the Alamance-Burlington School System in North Carolina where she supervised and supported special education programming in the district’s western zone.  Julie’s twenty years of experience in public education also includes that of teacher of students with exceptionalities in both special education and general education classrooms in grades K-12. She earned her M.Ed. in Special Education in 2003, her National Board Certification in 2005, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations in 2015. Julie currently serves as Research Liaison for the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE). She also serves on CEC’s Finance Committee and the Student Teacher Support Network. She is a Past-President of NC-CEC and a former member of the CEC Board of Directors.  Julie has presented at numerous national and state conferences on various topics within the field of education including co-teaching, inclusive schooling, legal issues, IEPs, culturally responsive teaching, transition planning, and positive behavior strategies and supports.
