100th anniversary logo

As we enter our 100th year of leading special education, the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is recognizing exceptional educators from around the world who have shown a passion, dedication, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of the students who they teach. Hear from teachers about their personal experiences working in the field, and get inspired to make your own impact this year.

Brittany Boeset

Brittany Boeset is in her second year teaching in rural Iowa! She has always had a passion for helping those with disabilities, as you will see. She graduated with a Bachelors in Special Education from Buena Vista University and is currently teaching level 2/3 (mild/moderate) special education in a self-contained classroom at Storm Lake Elementary. Brittany's passion is helping those kids with severe behaviors. She is planning on furthering her education by working on her Masters in Behavior, but she has not decided where to go just yet. Her favorite thing about her job is working with the awesome kids and families while watching her kids grow in their skills!
