Response prompting procedures are an effective and efficient way of delivering systematic instruction to students with disabilities across the age span. These procedures (i.e., graduated guidance, most-to-least prompting, system of least prompts, progressive and constant time delay, simultaneous prompting) are based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). This article provides an overview of response prompting procedures and examples of instructional plans that demonstrate their flexibility.
