Physical education and active lifestyle have countless benefits to all students, especially those with disabilities. Collaboration between special and physical education professionals is a critical component for ensuring students’ well-being. This article describes the benefits of quality physical education (PE) according to the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and provides practical applications for incorporating Common Core State Standards (CCSS) into PE curriculum. Practical solutions for teacher collaboration and for addressing physical activities across environments are provided.
