We are excited to begin our tenure as the academic editors of TEACHING Exceptional Children (TEC). This is a crucial time for practitioners, some of whom may feel unappreciated in exaggerated sociopolitical “sound bites” and confused by pedagogical differences being questioned and deliberated between education experts. We do not presume to have the power or influence to change those factors; however, we do have the privilege of putting effective instructional and behavior management practices in their hands, the practices that are essential to their daily work. We would like to thank Dr. Dawn Rowe for her dedication, vision, and commitment to maintaining TEC as a world-class journal. Stepping into the role of academic editors of the premier special education practitioner journal, we are committed to providing accessible tools to support effective classroom practices and look forward to continuing the journal’s tradition of excellence.
