Temporary 2021 Funding Bill Signed into Law

Early Thursday morning, President Trump signed into law a continuing resolution (CR) that will keep the federal government funded at Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 levels through December 11.

The bill will extend a much-needed pandemic-related food cash benefit for students who are eligible for school meals for every day of in-person instruction missed due to school buildings closures. It also extends provisions that make it easier for schools to distribute food to students when campuses are closed.

The stop-gap measure punts difficult spending debates for FY 2021 until after the November 3 elections.
