Recognizing the CEEDAR Center for the CEC Impact Award

The CEEDAR Center- Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability and Reform – has been selected as a recipient of the CEC Impact Award by the Board of Directors. 

for the Council for Exceptional Children’s Impact Award. The CEEDAR Center has had a significant impact on the field of special education and its partners.  The support they have provided to state departments of education (SEAs), local education agencies (LEAs) and educator preparation programs (EPPs), resource development and dissemination, professional learning opportunities and technical assistance has been exceptional. They have done an exemplary job partnering with CEC with the initiation of the High Leverage Practices (HLPs). The HLPs have influenced an update in our CEC K-12 Standards, Early Childhood Standards, etc.  The development of the HLPs has resulted in numerous book publications, and journal articles, laminated guides, leadership guides, faculty guides, professional development for paraeducators, early childhood personnel, K-12 and higher education. The CEEDAR Center has also supported CEC with their inclusive leadership initiative through professional learning opportunities, marketing FREE principal registration to the CEC 2024 convention, CECs educator shortage webinar series, educator shortage toolkit, educator shortage policy and much more!  The CEEDAR Center has included CECs participation in workgroups, uses CEC as a thought partner all which has enhanced CECs visibility and credibility within the field of special education, with other organizational partners and the US Department of Education.  CEC would like to congratulate the CEEDAR Center for its positive impact on the field of special education!
