OSEP Issues Annual IDEA Performance Report
On January 16, the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) published the 2024 State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) Indicator Analysis which reviews progress on eight Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) indicators aimed at improving outcomes for children and youth with disabilities.
It covers areas such as: enhanced social-emotional skills and outcomes for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in early intervention; family perspectives on early intervention and preschool transition planning; high school graduation, dropout prevention, and secondary transition compliance; and postsecondary outcomes for youth with disabilities. The 2024 analysis integrates accessible SPP/APR data, highlights states with effective practices, and provides valuable OSEP resources and technical assistance.
This resource serves as a guide for practitioners, policymakers, and educators committed to fostering positive, lifelong outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
