Learning Policy Institute Releases Blog on Family Engagement in Special Education

On Monday, the Learning Policy Institute (LPI) released a blog, “Home-School Partnerships Key to Supporting Students With Disabilities,” as part of the blog series on Learning in the Time of COVID-19. The post provides strategies for partnership between educators and families, emphasizing the key role parents and guardians play in implementing special education plans during remote and hybrid learning.

CEC Board Member Benjamin Tillotson, featured in the blog, stressed how important communicating with families is to the success of their children. He added that families should not only be given strategies and routines but also be supported on their implementation, especially during the pandemic.
