Funding Early Childhood is the Right IDEA

[image of a hand drawing on a chalk board, drawing is of a megaphone and the words ACT NOW]

This week, at the Division for Early Childhood conference, early childhood advocates came together to push for support for H.R. 5141, the Funding Early Childhood is the Right IDEA Act. The bill, sponsored by Representatives Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA) and Jared Huffman (D-CA) would establish a glidepath to increase authorization levels for Part C (infants and toddlers) and Section 619 (preschool) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The bill serves as a powerful advocacy tool by demonstrating the actual funding levels needed to implement IDEA’s early childhood programs successfully for young children and their families. Action Alert! Please join CEC to urge your Representative to cosponsor H.R. 5141, the Funding Early Childhood is the Right IDEA Act.

*Please note this is a targeted campaign that will only send messages to Members of the House of Representatives who have not yet cosponsored the bill. A Senate version of this bill has not yet been introduced.
