The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Elementary and Secondary Education has issued a notice inviting applicants for fiscal year 2022’s Teacher Quality Partnership Grants. The TQP program supports student achievement through the development of prospective and new teachers. The program ensures that institutions of higher education are preparing teachers according to State certification and licensure requirements and help recruit a diverse educator workforce.

According to the notice, eligible partnerships must include a “high-need local educational agency (LEA), a high-need school served by the LEA, or a high-need early childhood education (ECE) program; a partner institution; a school, department, or program of education within such partner institution; and a school or department of arts and sciences within such partner institution.”

The deadline to convey an intent to apply is March 28th and the deadline for transmittal is April 26th.
