Department of Education Fact Sheets Show Spending for Students with Disabilities
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has published 52 fact sheets outlining the actions and investments made by the Biden-Harris Administration to improve schools, colleges, and universities, benefiting students across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
The fact sheets demonstrate how the Raise the Bar: Lead the World initiative is actively enhancing education in communities through unprecedented federal funding, supporting public education, and achieving positive outcomes for families.
Highlighted in the fact sheets is how each state has spent funds to accelerate academic achievement for students with disabilities. For instance, Florida has spent $2.9 billion to support 432,000 students with disabilities—an increase of $90.6 million over previous periods while California has spent $5.5 billion to support 805,000 students with disabilities— an increase of $150 million.
