CEC Endorses the Save Education Jobs Act

This week, Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-CT) introduced the Save Education Jobs Act to protect roughly 4 million educator jobs amid what is expected to be major COVID-related funding cuts.

The proposal would establish an Education Jobs Fund to stabilize the workforce, providing approximately $261 billion in aid directed at job security over a 10-year period. The funding holds several stipulations, such as states maintaining their own education funding and at least 90% of the funds going to school personnel salaries and benefits. The bill would save jobs, provide stabilization to the economy, and address and lessen COVID-related learning loss.

CEC joined with 44 organizations to endorse the bill.
