CEC and Partners Publish Recommendations for Learning Recovery for Students with Disabilities

CEC joined the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD) and several other educational partners to publish nine recommendations to address learning recovery that students with disabilities have experienced during the pandemic.

Recommendations include providing students equal access to instructional loss programming and any necessary accommodations; recognizing special education services as separate and apart from learning recovery programs, and not supplanted; conducting inclusive progress monitoring practices; enabling meaningful collaboration between professionals to ensure students’ success; conducting inclusive and transparent data on learning recovery; and more.

The recommendations were presented to the Department of Education on Friday.
