American Rescue Plan Act Overview: Understanding the New Law and Its Impact on Education

At the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), we're proud to collaborate with our Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) division, our Division for Early Childhood (DEC), and our Teacher Education Division (TED) for this informational webinar on the American Rescue Plan Act. The American Rescue Plan Act will provide roughly $168 billion in funding for education in addition to the nearly $113 billion provided through the CARES Act and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. This funding, which is more than three times the annual budget of the Department of Education, comes with a tremendous amount of flexibility, and thus, tremendous potential. This panel will review the contents of the new law and discuss the allowable expenses that can impact the special educator pipeline and support infants, toddlers, children, and youth with exceptionalities.

Presented by Kuna Tavalin, CEC; Kaitlyn Brennan, TED; Myrna Mandlawitz, CASE; Sharon Walsh, DEC.
