This paper describes practical strategies teachers can use to increase and improve the quality of parent involvement. The BRIDGES model was developed as part of an action research project implemented in a third grade inclusion classroom. Key features of the project will be shared through vignettes, along with implications and implementation recommendations for practitioners. The acronym BRIDGES summarizes key components: Build, Recruit, Individualize, Dialogue, Generate, Empower, and Strengthen.
